REFUND POLICY

Effective Date: January 2016

At Southernmost Sailing School, we understand that plans can change. This Refund Policy explains our guidelines for cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds.

By booking a course with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Course Reservations

  • A deposit or full payment may be required to reserve your spot.

  • Your enrollment is not confirmed until payment is received.

  • Course spaces are limited and held specifically for you.

2. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

To ensure fairness and availability for all students, Southernmost Sailing School maintains the following cancellation and rescheduling policy:

  1. Notice Requirement
    Students must provide written notice to cancel or reschedule their in-person training at least 30 days prior to the scheduled start date.

  2. Rescheduling Window
    If a student chooses to reschedule, the new training dates must be scheduled within six (6) months of the originally booked course dates.

  3. Non-Refundable Deposit
    A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit secures your training dates and is not refundable under any circumstances.

  4. Final Payment
    The remaining course balance is due seven (7) days prior to the start of in-person training.

  5. Late Cancellations
    Cancellations made less than 30 days before the scheduled start date may result in forfeiture of all payments made.

  6. No-Shows
    Failure to attend scheduled training without prior notice will result in forfeiture of all fees.

Southernmost Sailing School reserves the right to reschedule training due to weather, safety, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, students will be offered alternative dates.

3. Partial Attendance

  • No refunds will be issued for partial attendance.

  • If a student leaves a course early, misses scheduled sessions, or does not complete the full program for any reason, all payments will be forfeited. This includes absences due to personal scheduling conflicts, travel changes, or other individual circumstances.

  • Course fees are based on reserved time, instructor availability, and limited enrollment, and cannot be adjusted for incomplete participation.

4. Certification & Performance

Refunds are not issued based on:

  • Failure to pass written or practical exams

  • Incomplete coursework

  • Personal readiness or skill level

Certification is based on demonstrated competence.

5. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.

  • Please allow 7–10 business days for processing.

  • Processing fees may be deducted where applicable.

6. Special Circumstances

We understand that emergencies happen.

In cases of documented medical emergencies, family emergencies, or military obligations, we may consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
