REFUND POLICY

Effective Date: January 2016

At Southernmost Sailing School, we understand that plans can change. This Refund Policy explains our guidelines for cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds.

By booking a course with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Course Reservations

  • A deposit or full payment may be required to reserve your spot.

  • Your enrollment is not confirmed until payment is received.

  • Course spaces are limited and held specifically for you.

2. Student Cancellations

More Than 7 Days Before Class

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the scheduled start date are eligible for a full refund or course credit, minus any processing fees.

3–7 Days Before Class

  • Cancellations made 3 to 7 days prior to the start date may receive a partial refund or course credit, at our discretion.

Less Than 72 Hours / No-Show

  • Cancellations made within 72 hours of the class start date, or failure to attend without notice, are non-refundable.

  • No-shows forfeit all payments.

3. Rescheduling

  • Students may request to reschedule once without penalty if notice is given at least 72 hours in advance, subject to availability.

  • Additional rescheduling requests may incur a fee.

4. Weather & Instructor Cancellations

Safety is our top priority.

If a class is canceled due to:

  • Unsafe weather conditions

  • Mechanical issues

  • Instructor illness

  • Unforeseen circumstances

Students will be offered:

✔ A rescheduled date
✔ Or a full refund

No penalties apply in these cases.

5. Partial Attendance

  • If a student leaves a course early or does not complete all scheduled sessions, refunds are not guaranteed.

  • Partial refunds are not typically issued for missed sessions.

6. Certification & Performance

Refunds are not issued based on:

  • Failure to pass written or practical exams

  • Incomplete coursework

  • Personal readiness or skill level

Certification is based on demonstrated competence.

7. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.

  • Please allow 7–10 business days for processing.

  • Processing fees may be deducted where applicable.

8. Special Circumstances

We understand that emergencies happen.

In cases of documented medical emergencies, family emergencies, or military obligations, we may consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
